Foundation of the “Keimzelle” Meusel & Gerling in Hamburg

1904

Acquisition of Meusel & Gerling by Walter König, relocation to Neuer Wall 59

1938

Acquisition of the company by Ernst Westphal

1939

Meusel & Gerling is renamed “Ernst Westphal” and grows into the largest watch parts supplier in northern Germany

1942

A severe bomb hit destroys a large part of the spare parts inventory

1944

Further bomb damage and reconstruction of the company at Neuer Wall 57

1954

Claus Westphal joins the company

1955

Relocation with more than twenty employees to spacious new premises at Große Bleichen 31, Kaufmannshaus

1965

Claus Westphal takes over the management of the company

1975

Relocation to Altstädter Twiete

2001

Jürgen Marquardt continues to run the long-established company unchanged

2006

Relocation to Nagelsweg 28, Thomas Krim becomes co-owner

2008

110th anniversary of Ernst Westphal, Thomas Krim takes over the company and continues as sole owner.

2012

Diana Krim takes over logistics management of the company

2013

Relocation from Nagelsweg to larger premises in Hamburg-Harburg

2020

Relocation with six employees to new premises in the former Tempowerk

2021

Even during the global Covid crisis the company continues to grow steadily
